The airport of the Venue is Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB).There a wide variety of international flights are available to Izmir and Istanbul from all over the world.

– You would be able to plan your round trip from your homeland to Izmir ADB direclty.

– In case direct flight is not available from your home to Izmir, the easiest way is to book your flight to one of Istanbul airports (IST or SAW) where more than fifteen direct flights are available in a day. This is the most fastest and direct route to Venue. Please be sure that your domestic arrival and departure airports are same within Istanbul (like ?? to SAW – SAW to ADB or ?? to IST -IST to ADB). Passing from on of Istanbul Airport to another can take up to 5 or 6 hours according to traffic jam.

– Once you have arrived to ADB airport, conference shuttle service can meet you for picking up to conference hotel.

 

Visa

It is recommended that foreigners, who wish to visit Turkey, should read the related information about Turkey’s visa regime.

Visa regime for Touristic and Business Purposed visit of a country may differ from Work and Education Purposed visit. Also Turkey’s visa regime may change according to reciprocity principle. While some applicants may be exempt from visa for their touristic or business visit to Turkey, the others can obtain an e-Visa. All other applicants will need to obtain a visa through Turkish Representations in the abroad.

Important Notes for Turkey

Currency

The currency used in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TRY). Money exchange services can be found not only at the Airports but also most shopping centres, downtown and hotels around the conference venue. You can also access the automated teller machines (ATMs) that accept most of the main credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Weather

Izmir has hot and humid weather, with little variation throughout the year. The average daytime temperature is 30º– 38ºC, dropping to around 24ºC in the evenings. In October, it is usually 24ºC average in day time, and 18º–20ºC in the evenings. 

Time Difference

In Turkey, single times are applied. In summer it is GMT+2 / CET+1, and time difference is GMT+3 or CET+2 due to European time shift in winter times (including October).

Electricity

Turkey’s electrical voltage is 220V AC, 50 Hertz.Type C and Type E/F plugs are used.

Cell Phone Usage

Turkey’s international dialing code is +(90). While in Turkey and if you have international roaming service on your cell phone, you will not need to press +(90) as it will automatically connect you to the local numbers here.

(No) Smoking

If you are a smoker, you should be aware of the smoking restrictions in Turkey, including the minimum legal age and the places where smoking is banned. Besides air-conditioned areas such as shopping centres, restaurants, entertainment outlets and cinemas, smoking is also an offence public buses, taxis and in lifts. The smoking ban is also applicable to public eateries and within a five-metre radius from most building entrances, except for allocated smoking areas that are clearly marked with green paint.
